    Emidio Pepe Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2009, 0,75L

There's a region harsh, green, abrupt, wild, rural, arcadic, uncontaminated, pastoral perhaps more than others: it's Abruzzo. In the Vibrata valley, carved by the creek, there's a winery carrying the name of its founder: he was called Emidio Pepe. Also his nephew's name is Emidio Pepe: he inherited the estate, the winery, but not only. As his father and the father of his father before him, Mr. Emidio became the man getting up every morning to go and honor his vines, working the seven Montepulciano and Trebbiano sown hectares, organically. No sulphites in the bottles by Emidio Pepe, whose passion is now traded to his daughters Sofia and Daniela - no filtering after the long bottle maturation, no machine-driven process in the pressing of Trebbiano grapes, foot-crushed as in some kind of ever-living bucolic dream.  A Real wine rests inside these bottles kept for years in the heart of the Abruzzo countryside: his legacy, to tell to the best of futures possible the stories of a past that cannot, must not be lost.
